Bird nest wreath with canvas bird.

This wreath is very simple to make using a birdnest and some artificial eggs.  The bird is made from canvas fabric and hot glue.  At holidays I take out the eggs and replace them with hearts for valentines day, shamrocks for St Patricks, candy corn for Halloween etc…  I also make extra birds so I can use a  cardinal for winter and a blackbird for Halloween.

  • Grapevine wreath
  • bird nest
  • eggs
  • canvas fabric
  • paint

Glue bird nest onto wreath and then add eggs.

Step 1.

Cut out two bird bodies and two wings from lightweight canvas.

Step 2.

Glue bird body pieces together leaving an opening in the bottom for stuffing.  Poke the stuffing in and then glue opening shut.

Step 3.

Glue wings onto body as shown in picture.

Step 4.

Glue stick onto bottom of bird.

Step 5.

Paint bird whatever color you would like. Attach it to wreath using hot glue.

About Elaine Kazinec

I have never met anyone who can't make wonderful things for their homes, friends, and family, only those who think they can't. The purpose of this blog is to show everyone how really simple most projects for the home are to make. When my husband and I bought our first home we were short on cash so I learned to be long on creativity. I have been told that I can make something wonderful out of nothing and that is true. You can too! Some of my favorite things are items that I found in someone's junk pile. I am going to show you how easy it really is. I hope you find the courage to jump in and attempt some of these projects. You will be amazed at how talented you really are.
