Make your child a sand and shell box for summer fun

candleholders   shells in case

My youngest grandchild is fascinated with sand and seashells. Especially the sand and seashells in my very breakable candle holders. In an attempt to save them from sure destruction I came up with an idea that is quick and easy and will hopefully do the job.

Materials:

  • Plastic container. If you live in rainy climates get one with a lid.
  • sand
  • shells  (I got a whole bag at a garage sale for 75 cents but they sell them at the dollar store and most craft stores.)

container with lid from wal mart  put sand in container - Copy  add shells

Container, sand, shells and the great outdoors. I am going to put one of the sand sifter toys in too and I think this will keep her busy for minutes. (Hours would be unrealistic.)

About Elaine Kazinec

I have never met anyone who can't make wonderful things for their homes, friends, and family, only those who think they can't. The purpose of this blog is to show everyone how really simple most projects for the home are to make. When my husband and I bought our first home we were short on cash so I learned to be long on creativity. I have been told that I can make something wonderful out of nothing and that is true. You can too! Some of my favorite things are items that I found in someone's junk pile. I am going to show you how easy it really is. I hope you find the courage to jump in and attempt some of these projects. You will be amazed at how talented you really are.
