I made this candleholder using a mason jar and some decorative paper. I made six of them and I’m going to place them in a row on my Thanksgiving table.
Materials:
- glass jar (Use one that is straight up and down, not tapered.)
- velum paper
- decorative translucent paper
- leaf
- twine
- twigs
- hot glue gun

Step 1.
Cut a piece of velum paper that is the same height as the jar and long enough to overlap slightly. Cut a piece of decorative paper the same size.

Step 2.
Wrap the velum paper around the jar and tape. This will add some crispness when you add the decorative paper.

Step 3.
Wrap the decorative paper around jar and secure it using hot glue.

Step 4.
Glue leaf on paper and then tie a piece of cord around as shown.

Step 5.
Add some twigs and tie into place.
About the Author

I have never met anyone who can't make wonderful things for their homes, friends, and family, only those who think they can't. The purpose of this blog is to show everyone how really simple most projects for the home are to make. When my husband and I bought our first home we were short on cash so I learned to be long on creativity. I have been told that I can make something wonderful out of nothing and that is true. You can too! Some of my favorite things are items that I found in someone's junk pile. I am going to show you how easy it really is. I hope you find the courage to jump in and attempt some of these projects. You will be amazed at how talented you really are.
